Artificial Intelligence (AI)
"Generative artificial intelligence" (generative AI or GenAI) is a type of AI that can create original content such as text, images, videos, and sound in response to a user's prompt. It uses "large language models" (LLMs) to simulate a lot of decision-making processes.
Key Considerations When Using GenAI
Whenever you engage with GenAI models, there are several important assumptions to keep in mind:
Any data you provide to a GenAI system may be stored and processed by a third-party provider, such as Google, Meta, or Microsoft. This information may also be retained and subsequently used to refine or retrain future versions of the model.
The outputs generated by GenAI models may be inaccurate, incomplete, or entirely fabricated. These erroneous outputs are commonly referred to as "hallucinations".
Some of the data used to train GenAI models may originate from sources that potentially infringe upon third-party copyright.
