Independent Learning Personalization Training
In order to participate in your independent learning personalization training, review the following:
1. Complete Your EUPA
You MUST complete your EUPA in order to get access to Connect Care. This assessment MUST be completed NO LESS than 48 hours prior to your Personalization session.
The EUPA must be completed with a minimum score of 80%. You must complete the EUPA before you obtain access to Connect Care. If you have completed your EUPA but the system did not move you to PASS, please click here to complete a 10-second attestation and we will update our records.
What if I am not successful in passing my EUPA?
During your EUPA, the system will advise you on if your response is correct or incorrect. It will also provide you a reference to your learning materials to make it easy for your review. If you are unsuccessful with the EUPA, you can take it as soon as you're ready to try it again. If you have questions or are struggling, please email us at help.cmio@ahs.ca to arrange extra help.
2. Login Lab
It is CRITICAL that you check your login for Connect Care before personalization class and prior to the date you require access to Connect Care. To do so, you will need to:
Make sure you have completed your EUPA and On Our Best Behaviours assessments, as outlined above.
Open the Connect Care Production (PRD) environment from the Citrix My Apps folder (myapps.albertahealthservices.ca/).
On the Hyperspace login screen, enter your AHS username and password. If you have multiple “jobs” available, please repeat the next steps for each job.
In the department screen, select your zonal virtual clinical department (e.g., Edmonton Zone Cardiology, Edmonton Zone Pediatrics).
Once in, click the Epic button, select "Help" then "CMIO Login Labs Info" and follow the onscreen instructions.
If you are unable to log in to Hyperspace, please call the IT Service Desk & Solution Centre 1-877-311-4300 and identify that you have a CMIO role and are unable to log in to Hyperspace to complete your Login Lab.
3. Preparing for Training
In order to participate in your independent learning session, you must have:
Remote Access Token – If you do not already have a security token to enable remote computer access, you will receive an email from AHS IT with instructions on how to configure this. If you have not received these instructions, please refer to the Remote Access page of this Manual.
Citrix Workspace – Installation of this app allows you to access Connect Care through your home or non-AHS computer. For more information, refer to the Accessing Connect Care page of this Manual.
Dual Monitors – We recommend you have access to two screens in order to get the most benefit from this session.
If you do not have dual monitors, we suggest you use your computer or laptop to connect to the Connect Care training environment plus an iPad or similar device to connect to the virtual session.
If you do not have an additional device, you may be able to successful re-size the virtual session and Connect Care training environment windows to fit within one screen, but it is not ideal in terms of functionality.
Mobility and speech recognition apps
Use Workspace ONE to install the speech recognition application, PowerMic Mobile (PMM) on your personal mobile device.
For more information, see the Installing Mobile Apps section of this Manual. Note: although you will be able to install the required apps, Workspace ONE and PMM, you may not be able to log in until your personalization class.
For assistance with mobility questions or installing apps, please email: ConnectCare.Mobility@ahs.ca.
4. Starting Your Training
To confirm you are ready to start your training, complete this Pre-Class Checklist: ahs-cis.ca/personalizationcheck.
This video combined with our Getting Start with Virtual Training Guide walks you through accessing the Connect Care training environment. Complete this work before class to ensure you have access.
You can pause or rewind your independent learning at any time.
If you have questions or are struggling, please email us at help.cmio@ahs.ca.
PRD Practice Patients for Personalization
All personalization work is done in PRD and not PLY. CMIO practice patients are available in PRD for personalization work. Please do not sign orders, referrals, etc. for any practice patients while in PRD.
To find a CMIO practice patient:
Click the "Patient Lookup" tab on the Hyperspace Bar.
Type in "cmio" in the "Name/MRN" field followed by the name of your track, without a space between (e.g., cmioemergency).
Choose any of the patients listed in the search results.
