Commenting Tools (Sticky Notes)

Commenting tools allow information to be shared within clinical groups in Hyperspace. Clinicians can annotate or comment within a digital chart in a way not unlike attaching "sticky notes" to paper charts. These conveniently locate transitory operational information while not contaminating the official clinical record. For example, a nurse could create a sticky note with a reminder to ask about a patient's wedding during the next visit.

Sticky notes can be specific to a single encounter or may span many encounters while remaining specific to the patient.

Patient-level sticky notes (comments) persist across encounters and are not cleared or "purged". Episode-level comments persist until the end of the episode of care (e.g., pregnancy). Encounter-level sticky notes are cleared at the end of the encounter (e.g., discharge).
